Istanbul, Turkey
Fully automated production lines with robotic technology — manufacturing steel toecaps, aluminium toecaps and steel midsoles at speed, with precision and without compromise on quality.
The Istanbul facility is Isco's primary manufacturing plant and the centre of our steel and aluminium toecap production. Equipped with modern automated production lines and integrated robotic handling systems, it combines the output capacity of mass production with the consistency and dimensional accuracy that safety footwear manufacturers require.
Every toecap and midsole leaving Istanbul has passed through a tightly controlled production and quality sequence — from raw material entry to finished product dispatch — under Isco's direct operational control.
All steel and aluminium toecaps and steel midsoles in the Isco range are manufactured here in Istanbul — under full Isco ownership and operational control.
Metallic · EN ISO 22568-1
High-strength steel toecaps for EN ISO 20345 safety footwear. Full size range, all protection classes. Manufactured using our proprietary press forming and salt bath hardening process for superior dimensional consistency.
Metallic · EN ISO 22568-1
Lightweight aluminium toecaps manufactured using Isco's proprietary injection process — a world first that delivers superior structural integrity and more consistent geometry than conventional press-forming methods.
Anti-Perforation · EN ISO 22568-3
Anti-perforation midsoles in carbon steel, meeting EN ISO 22568-3 requirements. Precisely formed for consistent fit across all footwear lasts. Available in the full range of safety footwear sizes.
Anti-Perforation · EN ISO 22568-3
Stainless steel anti-perforation midsoles for applications requiring corrosion resistance — food processing, marine, pharmaceutical and other wet or chemically active environments.
Protective Component
Polymer anti-shatter covers for steel toecaps, preventing secondary hazard from metallic fragments. Manufactured in Istanbul and supplied as a complete component solution together with the steel toecap.
Behind every certified batch is a skilled team working the floor — loading and finishing toecaps on the coating line, handling freshly formed aluminium components, and running the dimensional and mechanical tests that back up every EN ISO compliance claim we make.
This is what "own factories" actually looks like day to day at Istanbul — not a stock photo, our own production floor.
Istanbul runs fully automated production lines equipped with the latest robotic handling and process control technology. Robots manage forming, transfer, positioning and handling throughout the production sequence — eliminating the dimensional variation that manual handling introduces and delivering consistency across every production run.
Automation also enables rapid changeovers between product sizes and specifications, giving Isco the production flexibility to respond to customer requirements without compromising throughput or quality.
After forming, all Isco steel toecaps undergo hardening. The choice of quenching medium has a decisive effect on the dimensional stability of the finished component — and Isco uses salt bath hardening (marquenching) for precisely this reason.
In conventional oil bath quenching, a vapour blanket forms on the surface of the component during the initial cooling stage. This vapour layer creates non-uniform heat extraction across the part — the surface cools at a different rate from the core, generating internal stress gradients that cause distortion and dimensional variation.
Molten salt baths have no vapour phase. The heat transfer is immediate, uniform and consistent across the entire surface and cross-section of the part — and the buoyancy of the salt bath physically stabilises the component during cooling, mechanically preventing sag and warping.
The result: more predictable post-hardening dimensions, batch after batch — which means the toecap fits your last accurately, every time, without secondary straightening operations or dimensional rejects.
This is confirmed in peer-reviewed metallurgical literature, ASM International proceedings, and across the commercial heat treatment industry: "A part quenched in salt will experience less distortion than that same part quenched in oil."

Why this matters for your production: Consistent toecap dimensions mean consistent fit across your lasts, fewer fit rejections during assembly, and a finished safety shoe that performs as specified — every batch, every season.
Quality at the Istanbul factory is not a final inspection step — it is embedded throughout the production process. Statistical process controls monitor critical dimensions and material properties at each stage. The on-site quality laboratory performs regular testing against EN ISO 22568-1 specifications to verify that every production run meets the standard. Full batch documentation ensures complete traceability from raw material certificate to shipped pallet.
