Steel midsoles are especially used to provide protection against the penetration of sharp objects through the soles of footwear. These midsoles are manufactured from a special stainless steel with a penetration resistance of 1100 Newton (For the European standard) or 1200 Newton (For the CSA and ANSI standard).
